Carrier excels at London’s O2 Arena

Carrier Air Conditioning provide UK Chillers, Bms System, heating controllers and aircon units

The centrepiece of the multi-billion pound O2 development was the indoor arena for up to 23,000 fans that hosts up to 150 world-class music, entertainment and sport events in its first year of opening. The O2 Arena is an official venue for the 2012 Olympics, set to host both the gymnastic and basketball finals.

First the Millennium Dome and more recently the O2 Arena, Carrier has supplied air conditioning for both.

With fourteen Carrier air handling units, eight small Aquasnap chillers and up to 23,000 fan coil units Carrier has provided ultimate comfort for one of the UK’s official Olympic venues for 2012.

Carrier airconditioned the original Millennium Dome and more recently its spectacular successor The O2 Arena. Four of Carrier’s energy-efficient Aquaforce chillers, which incorporate micro-channel heat exchange technology, were part of the overall contract for the O2 Arena. Carrier supplied nine further large water-cooled chillers, each with almost a megawatt cooling capacity, combined with fourteen Carrier air handling systems. Eight more, smaller, Aquasnap chillers were also incorporated into further developments in the Arena’s Waterfront leisure village area.
