July 13, 2009 MONTLUEL, France, July 13, 2009 – Carrier Corp., a world leader in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry, introduces Aquasnap® 30RB/30RQ air-cooled liquid chillers and heat pumps, with cooling capacities ranging from 17kW to 160kW, increased energy efficiency versus previous models, non-ozone depleting Puron® refrigerant, graphical user interface, and other value-added features. The enhancements are largely based on customer feedback, underscoring Carrier’s commitment to customer satisfaction. Carrier is a business unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX). In 1997, Carrier created what became a leading product in the chiller and heat pump market below 200kW with the launch of the 30RA/RH Aquasnap air-cooled chiller line. Today, Carrier expands upon this success with its next generation of Aquasnap 30RB/30RQ air-cooled scroll chillers and heat pumps. Continuing Carrier’s leadership in non-ozone depleting systems, the Aquasnap 30RB/30RQ line uses Puron refrigerant. Eurovent-certified Class A for the 17-33kW models and Class C and B for the 40-160kW units, the new chillers provide approximately 17% to 20% energy savings compared to previous models through reduced electricity use. “The 17kW to 160kW Aquasnap chillers will be equipped with a new graphical user interface that will allow users to display the operating parameters of the unit, including the value of the water flow rate,” stated Anthony Ornatsky, product manager, small air-cooled chillers, Carrier Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “The interface is simple to operate and can be installed in the building remotely from the chiller.” The new Aquasnap air-cooled chillers offer other innovative features as well. Factory installed hydronics provide quick installation and simplify commissioning. The hydronic module is also available in a variable water flow version that auto-adapts to a building’s water demand. With a low profile and small footprint, the Aquasnap chiller can be installed virtually anywhere. “Carrier has been listening to its customer requests for enhancements to the Aquasnap chillers below 200kW,” stated David Appel, president, Carrier HVAC EMEA. “We maintained key features like the compact form from the previous generation while offering new innovative components that reflect Carrier’s leadership in HVAC system design.” Aquasnap chillers will be manufactured at two Carrier factories located in France and Italy and will be distributed in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. back to news articles |
