Aquasnap® High-Temperature Heat Pumps Bring Carrier Corp’s Expertise to Commercial Heating

MONTLUEL, France, Feb. 2009 – Carrier Corp., a world leader in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR), has introduced a new range of Aquasnap® high-temperature heat pumps with a heating capacity ranging from 14 kW to 105 kW, providing energy efficient heating solutions suitable for commercial applications. With this launch, Carrier is the first manufacturer to offer high-temperature packaged heat pumps with a heating capacity above 50 kW. Carrier is a business unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

For more than 100 years, Carrier has provided efficient and reliable climate control solutions for buildings. With the Aquasnap high-temperature heat pump range, Carrier brings its expertise and know-how in the design and manufacture of thermodynamic products to the heating of commercial buildings. The high capacity of the Aquasnap heat pumps is suited for non-residential applications, while the compact size of the units permits easy integration into most commercial buildings.

These units also deliver excellent energy efficiency and meet European Ecolabel efficiency requirements. In addition, the use of Aquasnap heat pumps contributes to Europe’s objective of obtaining 20 percent of its total energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020.

“Aquasnap heat pumps ensure low energy consumption and are cost effective and environmentally sound. Heat pumps are approximately four times more efficient than traditional boilers and emit less CO2 into the atmosphere,” stated Brice Maisonnier, heating product manager, Carrier HVAC Europe Middle East and Africa.

Distributed in Africa and Europe, the Aquasnap high-temperature heat pump range is designed to operate under severe winter temperatures, down to -20°C, and to heat water up to +65°C, at which temperature hot water production is continuous.
